Accessibility Statement
Clipnote is for everyone who loves words, whether you read them, hear them, or both. We want the app and clipnote.social to work for people with disabilities, and we are working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
1. What Clipnote Already Does
- Every spoken Note can be read. Audio is transcribed into time-synced text that highlights along with playback, so you can read instead of listen.
- Every written piece can be heard. Writers can have their work read aloud by a natural AI voice, so readers who prefer listening aren't left out.
- Text follows your phone's size setting. The app respects the larger text sizes you set on your phone.
- Screen reader labels. Most buttons and controls carry labels for VoiceOver on iPhone and TalkBack on Android.
- Strong contrast. Text is designed for strong contrast against the dark background.
- Our policy pages (Terms, Privacy, Copyright, Child Safety, and this page) are built with clear headings, a skip link, visible keyboard focus, underlined links, and text that resizes without breaking.
2. Known Gaps We Are Working On
We are in beta and still improving. Today:
- Some animations, including the moving backgrounds on Notes, do not yet follow your phone's "Reduce Motion" setting.
- Not every screen has been fully tested with VoiceOver and TalkBack.
- Some buttons may still be missing screen reader labels.
- Transcripts are made by speech recognition and can contain errors.
3. Tell Us About a Barrier
If anything in Clipnote is hard or impossible for you to use, we want to know. Email support@clipnote.social with the subject "Accessibility" and tell us what you were trying to do, which device you use, and any assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days.
If you need any of our policies in another format, such as plain text or large print, email the same address and we will send it.
4. Changes
We update this statement as we improve Clipnote. The date and version at the top show when it last changed.
