Our rules

What is not allowed on Clipnote?

Any content or behavior that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a minor is banned. This includes:

  • Child sexual abuse material in any form: images, video, audio, or text.
  • Sexualized content involving or depicting anyone under 18, real or fictional.
  • Grooming: contacting a minor to build trust for sexual purposes, or asking a minor for sexual images or meetings.
  • Sextortion, trafficking, or advertising a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Sharing links to, or asking for, any of the above.
Who can use Clipnote?

The Clipnote app is made for adults and is listed for ages 18 and over. If we learn that an account belongs to a child, we close it.

How to report

In the app

Tap the overflow menu (···) on any Note and choose Report. You can also Block the account so it can no longer reach you. Reports go to our moderation queue and are reviewed by a person.

By email

Email support@clipnote.social with the subject "Child safety". Include the account handle and the title of the Note or a description of the message. Please do not attach or forward the material itself.

To the authorities

In the United States you can report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. Outside the US, contact your local police or a hotline listed by INHOPE.

What we do

When we find or receive a report of CSAE
  1. We remove the content and block access to it.
  2. We permanently ban the account and any accounts we find linked to it.
  3. We preserve the evidence as the law requires.
  4. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the NCMEC CyberTipline, as required by US law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and to other regional or national authorities where required.
  5. We cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
Compliance

Clipnote complies with child safety laws that apply to us, including US federal reporting requirements, and with the child safety policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play. These standards are part of our Terms of Service, which ban any content that sexualizes or endangers minors.
