Something not working, a question about your account, or content you need to report — start here.
Clipnote is a mobile app for short-form audio readings of written work — poetry, fiction, memoir, and spoken word. You can record your own reading or have your text narrated, and listeners can follow along with synchronized text while they listen.
Clipnote runs on iOS and Android. The app is in pre-release testing ahead of public launch.
Clipnote is passwordless. Sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a one-time six-digit code sent to your email. There is no password to create or remember.
First check that your device is not on silent and that the volume is up. Then close and reopen the app. If it still fails, make sure you are on the latest version and that you have a working internet connection — audio streams rather than downloading in full.
If a specific Note still will not play, email us with the title of the Note and the device you are using.
Open your profile from the bottom navigation, then tap Edit Profile. You can change your display name, handle, bio, link, avatar, and intro clip there. Handles can be changed once every seven days.
Email hello@clipnote.social from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We will permanently delete your account and the content attached to it, and confirm by email once it is done.
Deletion is permanent. Your Notes, audio, comments, and profile cannot be recovered afterward.
Tap the overflow menu on any Note and choose Report or Block. Blocking removes that person from your experience entirely. Reports go to our moderation queue and are reviewed by a person.
For anything urgent or serious, email us directly with the subject "Report content".
Your account details, the content you create, your social activity, and listening and diagnostic data used to run the service and power recommendations. We do not intentionally collect precise location, and we do not sell personal information. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
You do. You keep ownership of the writing and audio you publish, and you grant Clipnote the licence needed to host and play it back. See the Terms of Service for the exact wording.
